3M: Seamless is an exploration of the strength of 3M’s adhesives
and the perception of stability.
Using 3M’s epoxy based adhesive,
DP100 Plus Clear, the project focuses on using the clear and transparent drying capabilities of 3M’s adhesives to disrupt the way we understand stability.
The use of DP100 Plus Clear was chosen for its transparent drying capabilities, its ability to be used to connect different materials and its thermal capabilities as an epoxy adhesive.
The use of a clear, transparent lucite material for the seat and back contrasted with the use of solid wood and a hollow aluminium pipe for the leg structure highlights the adhesives clear drying capabilities and near invisible connections as well as cuts down on much of the weight in the design.

Similar to its chair counterpart, the Seamless Table uses the same adhesive, DP100 Clear Plus in the
same way, trading in the lucite plastic for a rounded glass top with an inlay for a disconnected lazy susan which can be removed.

Also part of the Seamless Line is another rendition of the Chair.
In addition to DP100 Plus Clear used to achieve a clear and seamless finish, the design also employs VHBtm Tape 4920 to wrap the leather around the legs in place of the aluminium pipe.
This change in design mean that the structure of the legs had to be made from wood top to bottom and allowed for an interesting two-tone detail for the leg.

As a pair to the Seamless Chair with wrapped leather, there is a version of the Seamless Table with the legs wrapped in leather. The design also features the two-tone wooden legs.
